Recipe

Black Pepper Bacon Cheeseburger

  • Prep – 10 min
  • Cook – 15 min
  • Serves – 2 burgers
Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 recommended)
  • 2 slices Black Pepper Cheese (white cheddar with black peppercorns)
  • 2 brioche buns, lightly toasted
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 1 medium yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 leaves crisp lettuce

Step 1

Cook the Bacon In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove and place on paper towels to drain.

Step 2

Caramelize the Onions In the same skillet, add butter and sliced onions. Cook over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally, for 10–15 minutes until soft, golden, and sweet. Set aside.

Step 3

Form the Burger Patties Divide the ground beef into two equal patties, slightly larger than the buns. Season both sides with salt and pepper.

Step 4

Cook the Burgers Heat a skillet or grill to medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 3–4 minutes per side, depending on desired doneness.

Step 5

Add the Cheese During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Black Pepper Cheese on each patty and allow it to melt over the burger.

Step 6

Build the Burger On the bottom half of each toasted brioche bun, layer: • lettuce • the Black Pepper Cheeseburger patty • crispy bacon • caramelized onions Top with the bun and serve immediately.
